It 's amazing another year has gone by, and I am still not using all my creative talents. There is just not enough time in the day...with work, and school, and family...gotta stick with the priorities for the time being. Maybe after school is done it will allow for a little more time to do crafty stuff. Until then I guess I can update every now and then. Hope you have a wonderful 2011 filled with many blessings!

It's been awhile

It seems like I got to do a lot more crafty things even when I was in school, now that I am working as a registered nurse....I don;t have time for much but work. No complaints here, but my blog is sure not getting updated like it should. And ever the student, I am still in school pursuing my BSN, and eventually my masters in nursing. Hopefully my last graduation will be in 2013...might seem like a long time, but it will happen before I know it.

Right now I just get to stamp every now and then, and then hopefully post it here, and you get to enjoy it. This image is a digital stamp, a new and exciting way to make some cool cards. I love to search for a image I don't have in my collection and add it for a pretty cheap price. I can't remember what site I got this from, but it's fun.

Well the time is almost here, and on June 5th I will be graduating from college with my ASN degree. It seems like forever since I started, and yet at the same time it seems like yesterday. As you can imagine I am beyond excited. This has been a long time in coming, and it is just a stepping stone to my ultimate goal of recieving my Masters degree in Nursing and becoming a Nurse Practitioner. The road is going to be three more year of school but I know I am up for the challenge, and look forward to advancing in that direction. It might not be easy, but well worth it in the end.

This gift set was made for my nursing preceptor as a little thank you. I had to do 144 hours of precepting time in the ER, and loved every minute of it. Hope you like it, and if you do, leave a comment or two. Thanks

I should be doing homework, but there are just times when ya gotta play a little bit! And it's one of those times! I have 11 days left of nursing school, yep, 11 days......my mind is fried, my head is spinning trying to think of all the things I gotta do before graduation, and I am stressed about finding a job. I wanna job, I need a job, I would love a job! Been filling out applications all week, and my fingers are hurting. What better therapy than to stamp. Nothing better in my book, and it's somewhat "non-addicting"!!

This card was actually made at my monthly 10's club meeting. It's a copy of one of the SU cards, but I love it!

Happy Easter

Today is a good day, it's Easter and my daughter
has been home for the weekend from college.
That is always a blessing. We are about to head to my sisters for brunch, and play some games. That is another good thing about Easter, time spent with family and friends. Good times! Just when I am thinking school is getting the best of me, there are always days like this where I can relax and rejuvenate my mind. The card I am sharing today I call "Jelly Bean Color Knowledge". Gruffies: Gotta love these Bears

I love bears, always have from a very young age. I think I got that from my Grandma Markisich, she loved bears as well. We would go to Yellowstone Park and Jackson, Wyoming every summer when I was younger. Those were some great memories. Of course, back then there were no rules when it came to feeding the bears, Grandma always made sure she had "animal crackers" to give to the bears. Now, I would never feed the bears, and in fact am quite fanatical when we go camping about not doing anything that would attract a bear. My DH thinks I am crazy, but you know what they say, "A fed bear, is a dead bear".

There are already too many being killed by stupidity (ok, off the soapbox).

I bought this Gruffie stamp the other day, and couldn't wait to use it. I was so excited when Stampabilities came out with this line, and seeing as they are so similar to House Mouse and all their antics, how could you not love them? It was on a day where I felt my Mojo coming back, finally, and wouldn't you know it when it does, school starts again on Monday. Sniff! I am going into my last quarter for my nursing degree, but am still looking towards the future of getting my Masters in nursing. That will take me another 3 years. I know it might be a tough road, but I know I can accomplish it and more. And then on my quiet days when I need to take a break, maybe I will crack out another Gruffies stamp and finally update my blog again. Thanks for stopping by, and please leave a comment or two. Another card to share

This card was made for some friends as part of The Stamp Shack 2010 Flood. That is a swap that I joined where each month a couple ladies are choosen to recieve cards from all the other ladies in the group. As you can probably see with my cards, I like to keep simple clean lines. I have looked back over that mnay years I have made cards, and my style has changed, who's hasn't? And now I am pretty happy with my style, and thats good. I find that I don't get caught up in all the latest products, I tend to just stick to what I know best and that seems to work for me. It seems lately I have been using my SU wheels more and more, just like with this card.

On a side note, I passed my test last week, and for the first time I was really worried about it. It's amazing how much I forgot seeing that I don't do EMS work on a daily basis anymore. I truly miss it every second of everyday. But just like with my cards I make a choice to keep my life simple. I am headed into finals week, and have three exams this week, plus a final in another class so I might be a little busy. Hope everyone is enjoying life right now, and may you have a blessed day.

Just a little card

I have been really neglecting my blog this year. I have even barely spent time in my stamps room making creative things. I am in my final year of my ASN degree, and right now I have two weeks left in the winter quarter. The next two weeks are going to test me....literally. I have three exams coming up in my nursing classes, I have a final in my sociology class, and I just registered to take my NREMT exam to re-new my license. I am very ready to get these two weeks over, so I can go into my final quarter of school. I am planning on going back for my BSN, and then my MSN, but I need to just focus on finishing this year out on a great note. I feel really good about this quarter, I have pushed myself to levels that I didn't think I had in me. I did get the chance to make some cards, and this is one of them. I bought them from Stampin' Up, and they are part of the new clear stamps, which I love, love, love. I am no longer going to buy the wood mounted stamps. Hope you like it!

A great Valentine's Day present from my Hubby

This was my wonderful present from my husband, Shaun for Valentine's Day. It's a stamp pad holder for all my Stampin' Up stamp pads, and it can hold 105 pads. So there is plenty of room for all the future "in-colors". He had made me a smaller one about two years ago, and I filled that one up awful fast. This one is much better, I was able to put all my clear acrylic blocks for my stamps in the drawers. It does take up quite a bit of space on my craft table, but I love it just the same.

He is taking orders on them, and they will cost $110.00 plus shipping. If you are interested I can bill you through paypal by your e-mail address. He can make them in the following sizes 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, anything by 12's.

I know I am a few days late. I have been crazy busy with school, and during the Chrsitmas break I made sure I took a lot of time off. With school starting back again on tuesday it reminds me of how much I have been neglecting my blog, and some of the things in life that are very important to me, such as my crafts and exercising everyday. I am back at the workout routine, and I hope to keep it that way. I have nevr been a bad eater in general, but I am cutting some of the other things out of my diet. I feel good about the coming year, not only do I graduate in June, but I will be turning the BIG 40! I know, pretty huge milestone.

I did make a few cards during the break, but not many. I think my mojo is gone due to the fact that my mind is pretty focused on my studies. I am gonna try to take the time each week to work on some crafty thing. I was making jewelry during the break, and I plan on opening up an etsy shop. I have so much craft stuff to sell. Wow, where has the summer gone. The boys are back in school, Charlee is away at college, and I go back for my last year of nursing school (well for right now that is) on September 28th. I am looking forward to getting back in the swing of things, and cannot wait to finish this year. This had been a long time coming. In the meantime, I have joined way too many ATC swaps, and all of them are Halloween theme, but I thought I would share one of my latest that I made. Well it's only been a couple days since I last posted, I might be on a roll! (don't hold your breath)

Right now, I am at the gym (working), and I get pretty bored so I thought I might share another creation I made at one of my monthly SU meetings. This goodie holder, is so simple and fun to make. It's made by folding a 8x8 double sided piece of patterned paper. Then you add the ribbon and any stamped image or sentiment. This would be easy to do for a birthday party or wedding favor. Hey, thats a great idea, my best friend Jana is getting married in October, and I am her Matron of Honor, this would be a great idea for her wedding favors in her choosen colors. Brilliant!

Senior Thank You's

Well finally I am back, seems like my blog is the always the last thing on my list. I finally got done with the senior thank you cards for the businesses that donated to the "alcohol free" party. The seniors get together the night of graduation at the bowling alley, and they play all sorts of games, eat pizza, sing karoke, guitar hero, and win cool prizes from the donating businesses. It's a way to keep them safe for the night. Since the school mascot is Pirates, I bought this Changito set to make the cards. I had to make like 75 of them, and luckily they came together really easy. I took the image to work with me at the gym, and colored them in between helping customers and working out. Now I need to make another 50 or so for my daughters thank you cards for graduation gifts. Although I am using another image from the set. I might just get some use out of this set, since I still have two boys going throught the same school.

Life is pretty easy right now, I am helping Shaun with construction projects the rest of the summer instead of finding a part-time job, just seemd to make more sense this year. College starts next month, and then my time will be spent finishing up my last year for my ASN. I am sending Charlee off to college at the end of this month, and I'm not looking forward to that at all. I guess I wanted her to grow up and be her own person, I just didn't think it would be so hard to let go. Luckily she is just 3 hours away, and she knows people down in Butte. She is just looking forward to playing softball again. We already went to a pre-orientation and registration, and she is starting to get excited and scared all at the same time. Her schedule is pretty easy the first semester, which is really good, between having to work part-time and being able to practice and do homework I didn't want her to be too overwhelmed.
She has yet to delcare a major, which is okay. I think she just needs to find her niche. OKay so thats enough babbling, I got to go and get some stuff done. Catch up with you later!

Another long time since I have posted. I am out of school for the summer, and have one year left to get my ASN degree for nursing. I plan on going back and getting my BSN and then my MSN, but lets just do one year at a time. I am so happy to finally have some time to myself, but I must confess I am rather bored with not having to study and write papers, and do clinicals. I need to find a job for the summer, well one that peaks my interest at least. I am working until July 8th at the gym where I work-out, but that is only to cover shifts for the personal trainer. It is not something I want to do full-time.
I really just want to hang out with my kiddos and lay-out by the lake, but must work if I want to send my daughter to college.
Okay now back to my card, and the reason I named this post. I am so in love with Stampin' Up Pacific Point, it's one of my favorite colors, and just like the dork I am of course I didn't order more than one pack of the cardstock. Which means I am in saving mode, just so I never run out......
Never have used this set (Always) before, and it's kind of lovely. Needed a quick card for a friend.
I am trying to finish up thank you cards for the senior class, and others for Charlee. Might work on that tomorrow. Thanks for visiting for now.

Montana Softball Classic

I can honestly say that this weekend in Butte for the Montana All-Star softball games were one of the funnest ever. It was so laid back and relaxing, although sightly competative. In the picture is Charlee (3rd from left), and the rest of her team. The teams were named after mines in Butte, and her team was called Team Steward. This was the first year and the whole organizaton deserves a round of applause on a job well done. Charlee's team took third place, but believe me there were no losers this weekend.

Montana All-Star Softball Players

It's been a long time since I posted. Life has been crazy busy. But I couldn't pass up the chance to "toot" about my daughters (Charlee is in blue) selection to the Montana All-Star Softball games in Butte this weekend. She was nominated by her high school coach, and then picked by a selection committee, and that was from the entire state. I am super proud. She is hoping to get picked for a college scholarship to play softball, and has a good chance, since they alerted about 62 local colleges of the tourney. Another great news tidbit is that she was selected as 1st Team All Conference Pitcher this year. Not bad for her first year as a pitcher, she finished the season with 7 wins, no losses, and 3 saves. Also in the picture is Sarah (3rd Base), and Rochelle (1st Base). All Polson Lady Pirates, and all selections to play in the All-Star Games.
Way to go Girls!

Softball Day!

Well my daughter got another win on the mound. We played Columbia Falls today, and won 11-3. My daughter did an amazing job on the mound. She had a two hitter, and then the coach brought in the other pitcher who went on to give up the three runs! (Nevermind)

The picture is Charlee throwing her curve ball. It was a beautiful day, very suuny, in fact I think my face is a little red. We go to F-town tomorrow, and they just might be our girls first real test. GO LADY PIRATES!

Okay so her first game is done, and now maybe all the jitters can go bye-bye! Mine, not hers! Okay so she did admit to be a little nervous. She isn't used to having all eyes on her, unless one is hit to the outfield. We had a double-header today against Browning. Charlee didn't get to play in the first one, only because she was busy taking her ACT's. But she was back for the second game, and pitched a one-hitter. It could have been a no-hitter, but there was an error on the shortstop. That's okay, she is doing beautifully! I am such a proud mom! Her batting is on fire again, going 3-for-3 with two singles and a triple. Just when I thought my life wasn't hectic enough, then we add softball and school into the mix. I have never ever missed one of her games, and I am worried that I might have to miss one or two. And that doesn't settle very well with me. Okay enough of that. I cannot wait until tuesday, then we are off to Hamilton. GO LADY PIRATES!

So every month I attend a Stampin' Up card meeting, called a 10's Club. The premise for the meeting is getting together with your SU demo, and 10 other ladies, exchange cards, and make and take cards. This was the card I made for the exchange. I have been really liking using white as my focal point lately. Beside that fact that it's cheaper to buy in bulk. And with this economy, cheaper is better. Okay not cheap, cardstock by any means, but it's easier to buy in bulk.

I am starting school on monday, and this quarter is going to test me everyday. My plate is so full right now, and I don't know about you but it seems the more things I have to do, the better able I am to focus and get things done. I have school and all it's details, then my daughter is graduating this year, she is also pitching for our varsity high school softball team. Then the other night I signed up at the Senior Party Meeting to do all the invitations and the thank you cards, what the heck was I thinking. Luckily I have two other ladies helping me out. So Many Swirls

Made this card yesterday, I love using up scraps, and this just happens to be another Kreation from my vast amount of scraps in my room. It seems like I was in a somewhat "polka dot" mood yesterday. The swirls are from a Stampin' Up sizzix die, that I use in my cuttlebug. I was trying to creatre something a little different. I tend to make the same things over and over, and try to branch out once in awhile. I have been doing this for so long, I seem to have found a comfortable zone for myself. I tend not to try all the new lastest and greatest things. Which saves me money, and I don't waste a lot.

Well I have a full plate planned today, I am headed off to the gym. Been keeping my regular schedule, and plan on working it into my school schedule come monday when I return to work. Then my daughters team is playing a scrimmage today, if the weather hold up. It has been off and on snowing and sunshining. But it's Montana, and we usually say, "if you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes". Which means it usually gets better, and thats what I am praying for right now!! Then I have a 10's club meeting tonight, and have to put the finishing touches on my cards for the exchange. I hope to add my card tomorrow, so keep checking back. It's my older sisters birthday today! Just thought I would make some cards. I finally decided to start using my digital camera to take pictures of my cards. My scanner seems to fade the colors on the cards, and just doesn't do them justice. JMO!
I spent this morning in my stamp room, needed to egt in some ME time before school starts up again on Monday! The two weeks just flew by! There is nothing I like better than making cards by using up scraps, and that is what I did this morning. About a year ago I took all my scrap papers and seperated them by color, they are in ziplock baggies, and sit in a big basket with a handle on my stand next to my desk. This system really works for me. The other thing I did was remember to write down all the supplies I used for the cards I made. Just use a little sticky note, jot it down and stick it to the inside of the card until I send it out. (okay the thought of sending it out is nice enough)
I need to figure out a better lighting system for my picture taking, but without buying one of those expensive light boxes that the "pros" use. Maybe if I were selling my cards more I could see the expense but not now. School has my focus again, and cards will have to return to the background. Oh, and there is softball too! Our first game is a double-header on April 4th against Browning, my daughter is going to miss the first game of that double, cause she has to take her ACT exam that morning. But she will be back for the second game, and hopefully be starting the game pitching. I am so excited! I went to practice yesterday, and she did wonderful of course, she almost hit a homerun. I seen this layout at my 10's club. It is so adorable. I needed something short and sweet to make for my instructors, after this quarter is finished. As much as this year as been hectic for us student, I can only imagine all the stress they deal with on a daily basis, after all they are forming future nurses. We tend to be whiners, me included in that very untasteful behavior, but then again I am only human. I have resigned my self to the fact I am going to stay away from the negative this quarter. School is stressful enough, don't need to add to the culture of negativity. I am after all an adult and know what I need to do to get trough this on my own terms.

Ok, now that I am off my soap box. I am having a really great day, here in Montana. The sun is shining bright and my house is getting cleaner and cleaner. I am waiting for the ground to that out and dry a little more before I clean my carpets, my last chore. My driveway is a muddy mess, and it just gets tracked in with the three kids, the hubby and the dog. Yuck!

I hope you all have a great weekend. My plans include catching up on my med calculations book, need to be comfortable when I go back and take my math exam, DO NOT want to take the extra class this quarter. I might even make some more cards to show off!

So I didn't stamp this card, I used Stampin' Ups rub-ons. This collection is from last tyears sell-a-bration set. I have so many still unopened packages of these designs. I wanted to be kind of different with this card, and do a tone-on-tone kind of thing! The funny things about me making cards, is I don't really send alot out. When I make cards I always make more than one of each design, just for this purpose but many don't get sent out. They are like my mini masterpieces, and I collect them. I have been stamping since 1994, and I have kept every card, tag, ATC, bag, bookmark, etc... that I have ever been given or made mtself. I am an organizing freak, and everything has it's place. So for my cards I used the rubbermaid shoe boxes for the regular A2 cards. They are organized by their sentiment, Happy Birthday, Thanks, you get the jist.....
So since I am out of school for the next 12 days, I have been doing a little spring cleaning. My house is pretty quaint, but still I have only been doing one room at a time. My house is always clean, but there is nothing better than doing a spring cleaning refresher.... Doing one room a day has really helped me not burn myself out. Since I am in school, I have really turned over a lot of the duties to my kiddos, and the hubby (thank god for them all) But you know they never do put things away like I do, and so I am finding things way out their place. Just a little pet peeve. I couldn't do anything without my family backing me up. I finally found out my grades for winter quarter, and once again I am blessed to be moving on in the program. I am not going to lie, I was absolutely lazy last quarter when it came to school. My grades really don't reflect how poorly I paid attention to reading and doing homework. I really lucked out, I must have retained more information from my Paramedic training than I previously thought. Some in the class aren't returning, and it makes me sad. It is so hard to be happy for myself, when I am so sad about them not moving on too!

Okay enough of the weepy stuff! Let me just say I am so thankful for every blessing in my life, and I have many. I am so excited for softball season. My daughter has a killer curveball, and change-up. The other teams have been playing against her for years, and none of them have any idea that she pitched, so just let me say the coaches and players are going to flaber-gasted! She has a killer throw over-hand, and her pitching is smokin' hot! Can you feel my excitement.........I am so ready for the games to begin! Thanks for stopping by tday, have a wonderful weekend!

Beautiful Horses

I love this image by Coronado Stamps! It fits my personality perfectly. I miss living around my horses. I grew up around horses, Arabian Horses to be exact, and I miss not being able to go and ride everyday. I don't do a lot of things that I used to enjoy when I was growing up. Like fly fishing, haven't done that much in the last few years. And what is crazy is I live in the most perfect setting to do both. I guess as I have gotten older, my focus has shifted, from what I used to enjoy to being there for what my kids enjoy and are amazing at when it comes to sports.

Don't get me wrong, I love making cards, and expressing my creativity through my craft, but I miss the simple things. It seems I spend more time inside than outside anymore, and I am honestly thinking about changing that soon. It helps that the weather is starting to change here in Montana. Means I can get out, and work with my flowers, be at the lake, and of course at the softball fields. This is my daughters senior season, and this year she is pitching. I am nervous and excited at the same time, so much pressure, but now I think she has the moxie to handle it. Shes tough! I am beyond proud, she has come such a long way since 10U. What tiny little tart she used to be, now she is a powerhouse. I am honestly giddy about softball season, I think I might burst at the seams. I will be sharing some amazing photos this year, have to fill up those scrapbooks, you know! Well, I hope you all have a glorious week ahead of you! Practice starts today, and I am trying to finish up some spring cleaning before heading off to the fields, it's like spring training, except for kick ass girls!! GO LADY PIRATES!!

Blooming Love

Wow, I have been absent for quite sometime, haven't I? Not really been wanting to absolutely ignore my blog, but when youe get sick, and its a week before finals, then something just have to fall by the way side! This time it was my blog, okay usually it's my blog!!

Finally have feeling better, nothing worse than a sinus cold, yuck!! Does not lend itself to a good nights sleep.

Did get a chance to stamp recently, andmade some great cards, so I will be adding those to the blog in the next couple of days.
Waiting for my final grades, and hoping I get to move on in school. I know I passed my medicine calculation class, and chronic care class, but am still unsure about pathophysiology and pharmacology, those final tests were very hard. But truthfully, I wouldn't want them any other way! If they were too easy would I really be testing myself to learn the material?? I did get superior grades on my case study paper, and my care plan (OMG that was extensive), but well worth the effort. I tend to over do stuff sometimes, definately the type A personality in me!! But if I don't push myself to excell, who will?

Now I have two weeks to take care of spring cleaning, and softball season to start, and doing school related work for spring quarter. Wish me luck on my final grades, say a prayer or two!

Okay so that's a silly post name, but whatever. I am a dork!
This card I made at my SU 10's club meeting last night. After I let go of my demoship for SU, I went back to my old group. I am kinda glad about that, cause I missed my monthly meetings. I didn't get the chance to really hold monthly meeting with school and all. It was a bad time to sign up to be a demo.
I am excited that SU decided to return to only having one catalog per year, with more mini catty's. Anyway back to the card, the frog was made from punches, and wouldn't you know they are ones that I haven't bought yet. The sentiment is from a new sell-bration set, that I won! Well I didn't forget about my blog, just clearly haven't had the time to post let alone make a card, or even cook for my family. School is crazy busy, mid-terms are finally over and now we are finally into my favorite things in pathophysiology, Cardiac and Respiratory. I think that comes from my paramedic training. I could see my self working in a Cardiac lab after graduation, just a facinating thing...

Okay enough about school I have 4 days off, and even though I have two papers to write and a KNL (don't ask) to do, I am going to try to fit in some fun.

Went to a 10's club meeting tonight, and this card was the one I made for the exchange. Not a bad card for coming up with it about an hour before the party. The Stampin' Up set I used was "Big Bold Birthday" I embossed the green paper with my cuddlebug folder, and added dollar store sparkles. NICE!

Well I made a pile of cards so I will be adding them over the next few days, come back and enjoy, and please leave a comment or two. Thanks!

My New Great Nephew

Here is my new great nephew, Kai.

Isn't he adorable. He was born on January 28th, but it took me awhile to get a picture of him.

I am so happy for my neice and her fiance' Ryan.

I remember those days when I was younger and had to deal with little ones. Now that my kids are all teenagers, its a little different atmosphere in the house. I enjoy the atmosphere don't get me wrong, and it amazes me that I have two of them driving.

Okay, so school has been going well. This last week I took two mid-terms, and I am still waiting on the results. There has been plenty of rumors going around about the class doing not very well, and I am unsure about my actual results. I always feel this way after taking an exam, I hate this feeling. Then I found out about some of the other students finding joy in my maybe missing a question or two. I don't care about most things like that, but this was just so spiteful. I thought I left that kind of two-faced back stabbing gossip back in high school. But it seems no matter where you go, there is always someone in the back ground hoping you fail. Okay enough of that crapolla, I needed to share it with someone. It was eating at me.....

I have one more mid-term to tackle, and this is actually the hardest one of the three. No good way to study for this one. How do you apply nursing concepts to senerios, yikes, I know sounds crazy!! Well this week has been good for me in some ways, my clinicals on friday went very well, got to do some advanced skills, and my training from my paramedic training came in so handy.

I also started at the gym again, I haven't done a lot of training since my gallbladder surgery, but needed to get back to the routine, I have been thinking about doing one of the summer 5K runs, so we will see how that makes out. Okay, I am off to the stamp room, and hopefully with that and hitting the gym my stress over this week will go bye-bye!! Have a great weekend.

Brain Fog

This week is full of mid-terms, ouor Chronic Care has been moved to next tuesday. But today I took my Pathophysiology, and tomorrow is my Pharmacology mid-term. I am in a total brain fog, hence the name of my post. I actually feel pretty good about my test today, I think, maybe, no I feel good. Everyone was walking around freakin' out, and second guessing their answers. I did too!
The picture I took a little while ago, it's from my tree outside. We have been fogged in for the last week. We sit in a little valley at the lake, and it just sits and makes everything look all frosty. I think it's pretty, unless it hits the road and makes everything all slick. I am hoping it goes away, it's kind of clear right now, but we will see how it is in the morning. I am gonna go and spend the night finishing up on my Pharmocology homework, and study for the mid-term tomorrow. I really want to sit at my stamp table, and make cards, but I need to check my Kreative side at the door until the weekend. I hope you are having a great week!

Just a Little Note

I took thursday night off from studying. So what a better way to spend some time than make a few cards. I needed to send out a few to friends, and this is the one they will be receiving. I bought this set awhile ago off line, its a retired Stampin' Up set called "Gifts from the Orient". The patterned paper is from DCWV "The Far East" Stack.

A Baby Shower

I took sometime off from my studies yesterday, made a card and attended a baby shower for my niece, Ashley. It was a good day, oh and I attended the girls basketball game last night too. The Lady Pirates basketball team, did a special night of "Shooting for a Cure". They wore pink uniforms, and sold pink t-shirts, and even the cheerleaders wore special uniforms. Something different than the purple and gold. Two of girls on the basketball team, their moms are dealing with breast cancer right now. It was a very emotional night. Breast Cancer hits home, because my mom is a 5+ year survivor of breat cancer. We all most know someone who has been diagnosed with some form of cancer. It's scary.

Anyway, on to the baby shower. My niece Ashley is expecting her second baby, they are doing a scheduled c-section on wednesday, and she is expecting a boy, which they are naming Kai. So cute! I am going to make another hooded towel, but didn't have the time to whip one up, something to get done, this coming weekend. I spent the day at my sisters (Angela) house, and enjoying the company of my nieces (Heather, Ashley and Liz), and great nieces (Rustee, and Randy), and my great nephew (Jose', who is named after my nephew Jose' who died on Easter 2004, I miss him). They are so fun and lively to be around, and they deserve happiness, cause' that family has been through quite an ordeal. Shows me how much can happen how much sadness and loss, and yet life goes on, and you can still be happy. The picture is of Ashley, her fiance Ryan, and their son Jose'. I know, adorable family unit. She is so pregnant, it's amazing. I will be in school on wednesday, but I plan on going down to Missoula as soon as possible to see the new arrival. So excited. Okay, well I have a couple of ATI tests to take, and then I need to work on a KNL (don't ask), and then there is always plenty of reading and flash cards to make. I thought it was about time I made another post. So much for my trying to post everyday, thats what happens when you are in nursing school. Everything else kind of falls by the way-side. I have a busy schedule ahead, with lots of papers to write, and tons of reading to do. I only had a three day week, and I feel overwhelmed again. I am planning on spending all weekend in my room, studying and working on papers. I only get to take time for a little break by attending my nieces baby shower on Saturday. That will be a much needed break.

Now on to the card, don't know what I was really trying with this one. It is way out of my style, but I love it's quirkiness. It was a card I submitted for a contest for Papercrafts Magazine, but ended up not being choosen. Oh well, such is life. Never deters me away from submitting again, of course that depends on my schedule at school now. I really like the papers, but again the maker slipped my mind. Thats what happend when you are in school, my mind is full of goobly-gook that only I can make heads or tails out of now. In fact, I bet my mind looks like this paper, how fitting!! Wish I was basking in the sunshine

On days like this I wish I lived closer to the ocean. It's not too cold in Montana today, about 30 degrees. I spent most of the day at the gym, (I work on sundays) and I got a pretty good work-out, plus lots of studying done. But I am sick of the gloomy weather (we have a fog inversion going right now), and it didn't help that I spent the rest of the day watching my daughter pitch a softball in the high school gym. That really makes me hungry for some sunshine, and good weather. I am so excited for her softball season this year. She is among 7 seniors on our high school team, and this is our year to shine. I am a little nervous about her pitching, so much pressure. (yikers)

Not much else going on here today, just watching football now, and then going to read some more pathophysiology. I am hoping the Ravens beat the steelers, and I am glad about Arizona. Well thanks for stopping by again. Have a wonderful weekend, and a great Martin Luther King Day.

My Little Wrestler

I don't have a card to share with you today, instead I thought I would talk about my oldest son (15 yo) Dakotah.

Many of you know I am a fan of fast-pitch softball, what you don't know is that I am just a die hard fan of my kids and any sport they compete in.

My year is filled with football (my youngest son), golf (also Dakotah), and softball (my daughter Charlee).

In between that I try to fit in house cleaning, studying, reading, making cards, scrapbooking all their activities,

and whatever else will fit. This picture was taken the other night during a dual against Columbia Falls. My little scrapper is the one on your left, in the Purple and Gold. He wrestles at the 98 pound weight class, but barely weighs in at that weight. Like I said he's my "Little Wrestler". He is doing much better this year, made Varsity again, and seeing as it is only his second year, he has made great strides. Today he is in Missoula at a invite, and he already had two wins. I couldn't make the matches today, due to activites with my youngest son, but I thought by sharing this photo it might bring my "mighty mouse" some good luck. If your reading this send some good vibes his way today. Oh and before I forget, he won this match by pinning his opponent.

Mi Amore

Oh, love. Is there anything better than love? I surely didn't marry for money, so I guess when I say I am rich it has to be in love.

I made this card awhile ago, and it submitted it for publication, but again I was denied. I personally think it deserves to be shown. The darn thing about making card awhile back, I can never remember the paper of which I used to make the card. I know the brown is from SU, but the other patterned paper escapes my memory.

The flowers were white, but I used Tim Holtz inks to match my colors in the paper. The color combo is among my favorite to use. The button is from my collection, and most likely older than me. My mom gave me a vast collection of button, and some still are on the original packaging and have price stickers on them for like 10 cents.

Well, I needed to make a quick post. I am off to work on Pathophysiology, need to get some reading done and make what must be the millionth flash card. Thanks again for stopping by.

Friendship Card

True friends are hard to find. I have some friends in my life from 3rd grade. And many friends from high school. I had the great opportunity to attend a small high school for three years (10th through graduation) and this allowed me to get to know just about everyone in the town and surrounding communities. We had some great times. Currently attending college allows me to meet new people, and since we are all in the same boat so to speak, we have developed some great friendships as well.

Oh and we can nver forget my husband, Shaun, who is my best friend. We have been together for 20 years, and married for 19 of those years.

So my goal of posting everyday has been broken a few times already, but I am truly trying to meet this goal. I had to do a KNL tonight (it's a long story), and finally finished, now I am taking some time for me. Thanks again for stopping by, and leave a comment or two. Have a wonderful week!

I think the Bella images are among my favorite ever. They are all so Kreative. Not much to report on today. My day is going to be filled with sitting at my sons wrestling tourney, waiting for him to match up. I am going to spend the time between matches reading, and making flash cards. Never a break from studying right now. Thats okay it is all worth it in the end. Sorry for my post yeaterday, I was feeling.... well not my usual chipper self. I am enjoying the sound of "its friday" more and more, heck I am only a week into winter quarter and already I am freaking out. I thought that dropping down to only the required classes might help me out, but for some reason the smaller course load is kicking my butt!
I am not one to ask for help either, so I act like super woman.
When I see all the pages to read I am over-whelmed. and then to do flash cards, and journals, and KNL's (don't ask). Someone tell me I am okay, and doing the right thing.
I needed this little break, now back to the reflective journal, my most hated thing to do.

An oldie but a goodie

I made this card awhile back. I am afraid that with my school schedule my card making is once again on the decline.

I truly enjoy making cards, the design, the colors, the process. It relaxes me, and I should make it one of my highest priorities, unfortunately it not. I got really nervous at school today, and am feeling over-whelmed. This is not like me at all. I feel different, and ready to make a change. You will have to excuse me if I don't make my goal od posting everyday. Or at least a posting a card or creation everyday. I might also be sharing some more of my feelings, and maybe some pictures I have taken recently, another passion of mine.

Okay, and if anyone know where I can get my hand on some of the circle mesh in the background of this card, please let me know. I am told it is the left-over material after punching out sequins. Thanks for stopping by!

Another school for me to attend, nothing has changed

Wow! The memories this brings flooding back to my mind! At one time I was swapping with some very lovely ladies, and we swapped a Biography Book, this was one of the many pages in my book that I created. It is very fitting today, since I started winter quarter today. I feel like I have been in school forever, and as much as I would like to give it up after I get my nursing license I won't. I have great plans, but we will discuss those at another time.

Look at those pictures, and those cheeks (yes, they were pinched all the time) oh and don't forget the curly hair to boot!

I can't complain about school, I love learning, and today was no exception.

I only had one class today, and it went fairly smooth. Needed to take a minute to post, (see the goal is still going strong only 6 days in) and share one of my creations. Now off to work on homework before I attend my son's wrestling match. Actually, we already know he will win by forfeit tonight, since Whitefish does not have a 98lb. wrestler. Thats okay, he scores 6 points for his team, and is one step closer to divisionals and state. Have a wonderful evening!

That might have to be only Hot Cocoa, since I gave up the other kind of drinks about 19 years ago. And personally I don't miss them at all. Today was final registration for winter quarter, it was fast and easy. Now if only I had all my books, my most needed book is in UPS-land. Thankfully none of us have our books for that class, so tomorrows class might go by pretty fast. I have a pretty light schedule, and am so excited to take it easier for awhile. I really worked my butt of last quarter, and granted it was worth, believe me it was worth it. But I am a definately a Type A personality, and tend to do too much at once, and never take time for myself. I needed to take a smaller class load, and by working so hard in the beginning, I have a smaller load on my shoulders right now. Whew!!!

I am taking strides towards my goals for the year but am definately not over doing it!

Okay enough about school, now on to my ATC. This just fit my mood right now, and it was from a swap about a month or so back. I haven't swapped much lately. ATC swaps are much easier, with less cost, but I have kind of fallen off swapping for the time being. The images and sentiment is from Stampin' Up "Espress Yourself", oldie but a goodie! Cowboys and Penguins, two of my favorite things

I really wanted to spend the day locked in my room reading my 300 pages of required reading material for nursing school that starts up again on Tuesday after winter break. Unfortunately my stamp room is also located in the same room (my bedroom, and believe me it all fits) , and my stamps, inks and paper were calling out to me. I really had to have these stamps from The Cat's Pajamas, the minute I saw them. They are truly me in everyway possible. I paired the cute cowboy penguins with Stampin' Up set "Wanted". This card combines two of my favorite things on earth, Cowboys and penguins!

I have gone through about 200 of those required pages, and have some worksheets, a CEU, and some flash cards to do. All that, and I am off to my sisters house for dinner, which works out great. She cooks and cleans, and I read and work on school stuff. Okay now my itch is fixed, and I can return to my studies. Have a great day!

Hedgehog Friendship

After the snow we recieived yesterday I needed something to brighten up my mood. I also needed to make some cards for a swap, called the "Flood Swap". With this swap we flood the mailboxes of other people in the swap, it's a pretty easy swap to do.

For this card I used Stampin' Up sets, Hedgehog Happiness and Blossom Friend (or at least I think that's the name) Personally the scan doesn't do the color of the card justice. O-well I had fun making this card, and it's helping me make my goal of posting everyday this year. I went through my Stampin' Up sets yesterday, and as many of you might know I am kind of a fanatic about SU. A couple of years ago I started making cards by using all my sets, just makes it so I can never say I have never inked that set before. (okay I have a couple like that) We will see how the challenge goes, with school and all. I am going to try my best, and by doing the challenge I just might make my goal of posting everyday. Snow is so deep..........

I swear it is still snowing, and snowing, and snowing.....
I know I live in the great northwest, but holy freak it's crazy outside. I love Montana, but I truly live in the wrong state. Not too crazy for this much snow.
My driveway is crazy steep, and I know we have at least 6 more inches out there. Thankfully we have a friend with a plow, and he saves the day.
I am currently on track with my goal of posting everyday this year, (ha, ha) not too hard to do right now, since it is only the second day of 2009. We will see how things go when winter quarter in college starts on tuesday. (cross your fingers) Actually I dropped from 18 credits to 12 credits, and I am so happy for that change, you have know idea!!
Anyway, I made this card about 3 weeks back, the image and sentiment are from a Inkadinkado set, that I bought at my LSS. The patterned paper is DCWV. I used my snowflake cuttlebug folder to emboss the white accent paper, and I hand cut the sentiment out, following along with the lines of the stamped image. I gave "Frostbite" (the penguin, my name for him) a little bow tie as an embellishment, and colored him with my Stampin' Up markers after stamping him in staz-on black ink. The border was done by hand with one of my black pens. I figured the sentiment was appropriate for the current weather. Hope your not snowed in. Polar Bear Plunge into Flathead Lake

Every New Years Day at Riverside Park my fellow Polsonites break the ice surrounding the lake access at the park and run into the cold frigid water of Flathead Lake. Todays wonderful tempature of the water was a balmy 36 degrees, outside was 30 degrees. I personally would not ever do this, but its fun to see who comes out for the plunge and how many people young and old partake in this yearly ritual.

This picture shows about 100+ people waiting to run into the water, and then quickly run out. The girl facing the camera with her hands out is Heather, one of my oldest son golf partners for the high school. Her dad, Brian is standing next to her, he builds houses with my husband.

There they go. I am standing on the dock, bundled up in hat, gloves, and coat taking pictures, laughing in amazement at the spectical. The people were truly acting like they didn't mind the cold weather, and me, I was freakin' out about all the kids out there with hardly any clothes on.

Might be the mom in me, or the EMT, or the future nurse, take your pick!

Most the time, their families are waiting with the car running and heaters a blaring!! The community always takes the greatest precautions, there are volunteer firefighters in the water in their water rescue suits, and an ambulance on stand-by. But by the grace of God, they have never been needed.

It took a total of about one minute for the plunge from start to finish. And in the end the participants get a free T-shirt donated by a local family. This year was actually a warmer year than others, and that is hard to come by in Montana in January.

Well I hope you enjoyed looking at the pictures. One of my goals this year is to update my blog on a daily basis, either by sharing photos of the happenings of the day, or something kreative, or maybe a simple sentiment. Hope you all have a wonderful 2009, and may all your goals be achieved by 2010. I know in June 2010 my goal of becomeing a nurse will be a reality.

I just want to tell everyone how Thankful I am that they are in my life. So to celebrate the occasion, I am going to name 10 reasons why I am Thankful today, and everyday. Please join me in doing the same.

1. My Husband, Shaun, he is truly my best friend. We have been together for 19 years. We finish each others sentences, and we are more in love now than ever before. He walks beside me in every choice I make, and encourages me when I am down or doubting my abilities.

2. My daughter, Charlee. She is totally beautiful. She is an amazing athlete, smarter than she thinks she is, and can do anything she sets her mind too! I love it when she comes to me and talks about her inner most secrets, it makes me feel like I am doing something right as a mom.

3. My son, Dakotah. He is the truly funny one in the family. He always brings a smile to my face. Born on my birthday, he is one of my greatest gifts. He has an amazing ability to remember things like songs, movies, and silly little things on the radio. He could honestly be a actor or a comedian. And he does the greatest Jim Carrey impression.

4. My son, Wyatt. He is my little cuttle bug, even though he is almost 13 and is bigger than me. This child was born to play football, and be a heartbreaker. He is extremely smart and has a great heart, by taking care of little kids on the playground so they don't get bullied.

5. My parents, they are some of the hardest working poeple I know. They took great care of me. My dad showed me the way to work hard, and be my best. And my mom gave me love of crafting.

6. My friends, old and new. They make me laugh, cry, and strive to be a great friend as well.

7. My health, I work hard to take care of my self, and at times it is not easy. But I know in the end it is all worth ever drop of sweat, and every ounce of hard work to eat right.

8. My younger brother, and my 4 sisters. Some of them didn't make it easy for me while growing up. But I love them all the same. My sister Angela was the one who stepped up and helped when we had our house fire , and she made sure we were okay.

9. My stamps, I know that sounds materialistic, but truly I am thankful for them. They all bring me a way to lose myself when I am feeling stressed. I might not be the most amazing artist, but I am comfortable with my abilities.

10. I am thankful I live in this country, and have the freedoms that I do. I am thankful for all our military, thank you for serving, and making the sacrifices you make everyday. And to the military families as well, you are also making some great sacrifices.

Now tell me what you are thankful for one this day, and every day of the year.

There are many ways to serve your country, join the military, community service, run for office , or get out and vote for every election. Big or small.
Voting is our ultimate right, and I am proud to say I have voted since I was 18. And this last year I became an election judge. I will not talk politics, because not every one agrees on the candidates or the issues. My only wish is that you simply just get out and vote. And remember the little saying,
"if you don't vote, don't bitch if you don't like the outcome" JMO

I don't know the different laws concerning other states, but here in Montana you can still registar to vote all day on election day. Make sure you go to your local election office, usually located in the county courthouse. Take a picture ID, and a bill that shows your address, and the county you live in. Come on people, there is no reason not to vote, stand in the long lines, have your say, voice your opinion by checking the little boxes, collect your sticker, and feel the pride!

Wonderful Colors of Fall.....

The colors here in Western Montana are simply amazing. My yard is filled with leaves, and the drive around the lake is stunning. Sometimes I forget how beautiful Fall is because it leads to the dreaded winter season.

I made this ATC for a swap. The wheel barrow is from Stampin' Up.

The leaves were actually larger, and I had to make them smaller, lets just say there was a lot of cutting involved.

But they turned out so cute. JMO

School is going along just fine. We are still doing a lot of things that are very repetative for me.

Yesterday we did check-offs on physical assessments, and that went very well for me. After all I have done many of those assessments in the field. This coming week is mid-term, so my next few days will be filled with studying. I am doing amazingly well, and my confidence level is at an all time high. I wish I would have used this brain of mine in high school, oh well hindsight is... blah, blah, blah!

Wow, it's been a while since I posted. College has kept me crazy busy, and at times I feel like I barely have time to breath. Now I know why there is a nursing shortage, school kicks your butt!

Don't let me fool ya, I am actually doing really well. But it is hard, and frustrating, and fantastic all at the same time. I have more Kreations to share, but haven't downloaded them yet. I do have homework coming out of my sockets!

I personally will never forget this date in our nations history. I did not know anyone who was lost on that day, but as an EMT (since July 2001) I look at all those fallen heroes as my family and friends.

And when I speak of fallen heroes I also mean the many lives lost at the Pentagon, and the field in PA.

I have a pin that I have worn on my uniform since that day, which has the flag, and in the flag is the twin towers.

My thoughts and prayers still continue to go out to those who lost loved ones on that day.

Flood of Cards

On the Stamp Shack we have a swap called "Card Flood", or something of that nature. The premise is to flood a certain persons mailbox with cards from all the ladies that joined the swap. These are two of the cards I made to send to the lucky person being flooded... the swap lasts for 52 weeks, and each person has a week where their mailbox gets flooded.

A fellow "Stamp Shack" sister needed some cards that are going to be attached to blankets for wounded troops, and this was the two designs I came up with to help out.

As you can tell from my lack of posting, I haven't been in the greatest stamping mood, so I made these out of wall paper rolls I had. I found the wallpaper at a yard sale awhile ago, and wanted to make something for my patriotic kitchen from them, but like everything else in my scrap room, it is just sitting and collecting dust. Okay that's not true, I actually cleaned and organized the entire room this last week, and thought it might help me lasso up my mojo. It might be working cause I am in about 6 different ATC swaps. Well the girls played their hearts out and come up short this year.
We lost to Corvallis, and then lost to Frenchtown in loser out.

Libby ended up winning the whole shooting match.
Even though it wasn't us, the title is still in the western conference, and I was glad
to see the Libby seniors Brooke, Lacie, and Shelby get their win this year.

Now it's time for the summer season

We played our first game at the state tourney against Butte Central, and we won 6-4.
At 1pm tomorrow we play Corvallis.

We won our division about 30 minutes ago.
We were neck and neck with Libby.
We had to beat them by two points today, and we did.
Next week is state, and lets hope our team comes out on top again, just like last year.

Another Cancelation with Libby

I am willing to bet money that mother nature is not a softball fan this year, maybe she has moved on to enjoying other things.
Our game that was scheduled for today, and was a make-up, of a make-up, of a make-up game, was again cancelled due to rain.
The weather man is certain that we are getting almost 80 degree weather this weekend, and so we are scheduled again for saturday with them, we travel to their field on friday.
They are in our conference, and we are both tied for first right now, so these next to games decide the conference champ.

Win Some, Lose Some

The Butte Tourney was not as great as we hoped, but we did have some shining moments.
The girls played their little hearts out, and we ended up winning two games and losing two games.
Friday morning we played Laurel, and lost in the 8th inning by one run. We ended up going into the International tie-breaker in this one, but could only make up one run, after giving up two.
Our next game we played, Glendive, and we won that one 17-8. My daughter went 2-3 with a triple, a single, and a sac-bunt.
Saturday morning we played Frenchtown, and lost by one run again. I won't even go into the emotion and stupidity that went into this game.
Then we played the hosting team, Butte Central, we won 6-4 and my daughter hit another Home Run!!

We play Libby tomorrow night, and then travel to Libby for our last game.
Next week we travel back to Butte for State Softball, and hope for a repeat title.

Game Update

Well tonight we played C.Falls, and won 3-2 in the bottom of the 8th innning. I would update you about the Libby game, but again it was canceled due to another rain-out (that is the 3rd time this season)

We leave for the Butte Tourney tomorrow, and we have to face some great teams. Looking forward to the challenge for the girls.

Some more softball updates

Okay so this is the last couple of days......
We didn't get to play Libby on Tuesday, cause there was a rain-out. We always have crappy weather when they come to our fields. So we still have to make up that game, they are in our conference.
Yesterday we played Frenchtown, and they are definately a true "rival", in case you missed all the hoopla from last years state championship, we sent them home, and won state last year. Working our way up through the losers bracket, it was one of the most amazing games I have ever witnessed.
It was nice to beat them, 9-7. But they stayed up with us pretty well. I love games that are not blow-out, but where we come out on top, of course.
Today we played Whitefish, and again we won 17-1. The last time we played them, we weren't on our A-Game, but we still game out the victor.

The next week is filled with games. Weds- Libby(??) Thurs- C. Falls, and then we head to Butte for an invite tourney playing Laurel, Dawson, Frenchtown, and Bute Central.

A great weekend

Well we went into todays game like a well-oiled machine. Beat Hamilton 5-2, and Anaconda 13-0. Not a bad day, 2 more wins, and a sunburn. Gotta love it!
We have a great week ahead of us too, Libby on tuesday, and Frenchtown on Friday.
They both are good teams, but we are better. And Heck Yeah I am Biased!

Did I not say that we would play Corvallis again, and give them their first loss of the season.
Well that's what happened this morning, and what a wonderful way to start off our softball weekend in Frenchtown. Tomorrow morning we play Hamilton, and then we play Anaconda in the afternoon, and finally there is going to be a nice day, weather wise..... it's about time!

Update on the exams, "A's" on both, thank you very much. But I worked my butt of for those little grades. Found out I am going to start tutoring for the 2 classes, and I even get paid to help out. I wish I would have worked this hard in high school, I didn't get bad grades, but I could have done better than I did. O-well, hindsight being what it is..........

I just have to say it again, Polson Pirates 4 and Corvallis 2. Oh Yeah Baby!!!
That makes our record 11-1, and did I mention we actually have the toughest schedule in the state. More softball news to come tomorrow.......... stay tuned.

So we played the Whitefish Bulldogs on the 19th, and beat them 4-2. That was the most miserble day to play in, those poor girls had to play in a blizzard, so our game against Libby was rescheduled for the 29th. And wouldn't you know it I have a orientation that day. If I only miss one game this season, it is one game toooooo much.
School is still making me bonkers, and I find out tomorrow how I did on my first 2 exams.
Please help me and say a little prayer for a good grade, or two.
We have a fun filled softball weekend coming up, playing against Corvallis (our only loss this season) again, and we are going to cream them this time. Then we play Hamilton again, and finally we play Anaconda. I am so excited, maybe we might have a day where "Mother Nature" is having a great day, and the softball gods are on our side.
I did nothing but study all weekend long, so today I took a day off, and did pretty much "not a darn thing". I haven't touched a stamp in a couple of days, I did get to a 10's club on the 16th, and that was fun. Today I actually did one of my other passions, I sewed. I am making myself some new nursing scrubs, for my new job. And I did a little shopping, another passion, and even though I tried and tried to stay out of the shoe store, I didn't, besides I needed a new pair of workshoes.

Okay so the game was not the blow-out that we expected, but we did have a no-hitter against them. (good job D-Ray)
The score, 3-0. And that's all it takes to make them be quiet about "coming to our town, and beating us".
Can I tell you about the sweet little bunt my daughter laid down, and beat out the throw to first.
I am very bias when it comes to my daughter (all my kids for that fact), but I do have to admit she is a great bunter. I had to laugh when the rival coach (actually a friend) was waving at his whole group of kids to go back, way back. We had a super fast base runner on 1st, and then my daughter steps up to the plate, acts like she is going to hit away, and takes the first strike (she always does), then without showing bunt, lays down the sweetest little bunt, that just crept slowly up the third base side, right along the line without touching it. She beats the throw to 1st, oh ya, and the runner trots to 3rd. Now mind you, this was only a small portion of the entire game, but it was the sweetest little thing.

We have a double header this saturday against Whitefish and Libby. So I will update you after

I have been a busy little mother, crazy with school, and super busy with the kiddos.
Our softball team has been very busy with games, and when I am not doing that I have my nose stuck in a book. Microbiology really sucks!! (talk about a snore fest)

So here is the latest with the softball team.
We played C. Falls Wildkats on the 10th, and won, my daughter lead the offense going 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI's. The on staurday we traveled to Hamilton Broncs, won again 14-2, and then unfortunately we lost to Corvallis 4-3. That was our girls first real test, and we had them until the 6th inning, but unfortunately our pitcher wasn't getting any of the call at the plate. Oh well, we will face them again on the 26th, and most likely again at state, and we will send them packing.

Today we play our rival, the Ronan Maidens, and this should be a real slug fest, but only on our side. (insert wicked laugh here) I love rival games, they are so tense!!

I have a stamp party tomorrow night, and still haven't made my exchange cards. I truly am stuck in a rut when it comes to my creative side. I might have to change my blog name, until the drought is over.

Softball Weekend

I know, I know, this is blog needs to be changed to "Softball Dryve" in the spring and summer months, cause I don't share many cards or crafty things during the season.

I had a long GREAT weekend spent watching 4 games of softball. We left friday morning for the 300 drive along the Montana Highline, to see our Lady Pirates play the Havre BluePonies. My daughter went 4 for 4 in the first game, and then 2 for 4 in the second game. We won both games, and it was a great time. Then we drove back along the highline and stayed in Shelby, Montana. The next morning we drove in to Browning and played the Lady Indians, those two games we also won, and my daughter had a 2 run-home run.
This week is filled with softball too, we play Columbia Falls on thursday, and then travel to Hamilton and Corvallis on Saturday. These teams are going to give our girls some serious games, and I hope our girls are ready for the challenge. We have some strong players, big hitters, and awesome defense, so we should be just fine.

Todays my day off of school, and I am going to clean the house this morning, and then crack open my books. I have only 2 classes this quarter, but they are kicking my butt!! (and the quarter just started)

We have a entire week to go until our next game, can I really wait that long??

I guess I will have to use that time to study.

My daughter had a single with a RBI, a walk, and then two hard-hit dingers right to the SS, I bet that poor girls hand still hurts.

Well the 1st game is in the books, and I am counting the days to the next one.

It's Softball Season

But if you look outside my window, Mother Nature sure doesn't know that we need some good weather for our first game today. It snowed over night, and if they cancel todays game, does someone want to come and be me for a day, that way I don't have to deal with my daughters rotten mood. I am sure she is sitting at school not paying attention to her studies, and more interested in the announcement about whether or not todays game is still going to happen.

We are due to play Kalispells new school, the Glacier Wolfpack. They are a team like us, full of starting juniors. I am hoping they have a good pitcher, means a good day at the plate when my daughter is concerned. So I hope the skies clear, and the weather holds for awile so we can get in todays game. GO LADY PIRATES!!! (lets get another state win this year)

Well, my mojo is still on the fritz, maybe it's hiding at the end of the rainbow with me' pot O' Gold!

No really, I am still crazy busy. I have nursing entrance exams this week, and I have gone on two job interviews. ( I need the luck of the irish right now) But I did sit down for a while today and make this card, actually the image was already colored, and when I seen the clovers in the pot, I thought about Saint Patrick's Day. The image is from retired Stampin' Up set "Long Time Friend", and background dots are a jumbo wheel thats in the new mini. Plus I had to finally use my crop-o-dile, that I bought at Costco, and it had all the embelishment goodies with it. Score!

Well I am off to the fields, remember softball season has started, so please don't be upset if you see more pictures of my daughter hitting, than you see my creations. I have my priorities right now, and that is softball, softball, softball!

I know I have been AWOL for a little while, and I am hoping to get back to my creative side very soon. I am down to my last 2 weeks in our winter quarter, and college is getting rather hectic right now. I have a couple extremely important tests on the horizon, a term paper to write, and to top that off softball season for the Pirates is starting this month. And for those of us who have girls that play competative fastpitch, WE HAVE NO LIFE during softball season.
I will be excited to have a 2 week spring break and then it's back to college until June, just in time for summer softball season to start.
Did I also mention I lost my mojo? Yep, we all have those times where the creativity just dries up like a heavily used ink pad! I am hoping to find it soon, and schedule my first Stampin' Up camp/party as a new demo. Just another item to add to my already full agenda.
Please check back in a few days, I might have found my mojo by then, but my mind ,that's a whole other story!

I thought I might share a fun, bright, and wonderful card with you this morning. It's that kind of card that makes me wish for spring, like right now dang-nabbit! It snowed here last night, and I know we need the moisture, but frankly I am sick of the cold. I have a million things to do today, and it all starts with a trip to court. Nope not me, I didn't do anything, I have been selected to just maybe fill a prospective seat as a juror! I am listed in four different jury pools right now, (city court, justice court, district court, and U.S. District court) and that usually happens to me every 2 years or so. This must be my year! Don't get me wrong, I don't usually mind to serve, but today is not the day I really wanted to miss in class.

So to brighten my day, and put on a happy face, there is nothing better to cheer me up than a Bella! Hope your week is great, and you have a wonderful monday to begin it all.

I am finally doing something I have wanted to do for quite awhile..........I am signing up to be a Stampin' Up Demo. I have been a fan of SU since 1994, when I attended my first party. Since then I have been in the same 10's club with the same demo. My demo Anne was also my son's kindergarten teacher, so we have a wonderful history. I had always told Anne that I wouldn't sign-up until she was ready to give it up, but seeing as she loves the product as much as me, I finally decided that it was time. I am not sure if I am going to hit it full force, right now I am only interested in the discount, but I am sure a few clients will fall into my lap. I have been busy trying to figure out what sets I want to fill my kit, and that's super hard. I am glad I have a majority of the new catty for demo's if I need them, but to decide what else I might need is hard.

I made sure I did something special for my last 10's club meeting, I am after all the last original member. Anne might have an easier time trying to come up with her ideas, she always says that she has to find new styles, and techniques that I haven't seen. For my exchange I made matchbooks, inside are Ghirardelli Chocolates and the outside is decorated with an easter basket full of eggs. The image is from Stampin' Up set "Flower Filled". Do you ever buy something, and then never use them. I know we all have several sets or stamps in our room, that has never been inked. Well I cannot say that about the sets I bought from "The Cat's Pajamas", I am using them all the time. They really fit my personality and lifestyle quite well. I would have loved to use this image and the sentiment for my son's birth announcements, you know hindsights, blah, blah, blah!

These patterned papers are both by "Flair Designs", and I love them just for the simple fact they go well with these images. So here is a shout out to paper makers, "MAKE MORE WESTERN/COWBOY PAPERS!!" The sentiment is a sticker, and I can't for the life of me remember who it's by. I didn't want to do it, but this set from Autunm Leaves called "Mindy's Zoo" kept calling to me, and so I caved and bought it from my LSS "Country Cottage".

I needed a zoo set for all my pictures I need to scrap when we went to the Portland Zoo this summer while on our Oregon Coast trip. All the pp is by BO BUNNY (my favorite), and the sentiment is from Stampin' Up set "So Many Sayings". The embellishments are Cherry Red DoodleBug Dots, love them! I seen a blog about a little girl that has brain cancer, she is only 5 years old and has to under go 70 chemo treatments. Just breaks my heart. My only answer in life is HOPE, it might be simple to some but it has gotten me through some rough times. I made this card to send to her, maybe with a little hope she can be cancer free.

So I have been a bad little girl, and have been stamping instead of studying for my Anatomy and Physiology class. I do have to admit that the class is kind of a refresher class for me, because my EMT Basic and Paramedic classes pretty much taught me the entire thing. I really need to have a desk that doesn't double as my stamp/study desk, that way I might not be so tempted to grab for the stamps, paper, and ink so much.

Anyway, I get to share one of the cards I made while I was being a bad girl.

I ended up making 4 cards altogether, I have a few friends that I needed to send a "thinking of you" card too, one is having medical issues, and the other is having some tough days at work, and where she works you don't want to have those kind of days. Wouldn't you know she does the very thing I am going to school for! Then a shack friend lost a loved one, and I hate making sympathy cards, but it needed to be done.

I thought maybe a cheery card with bright colors might be the thing! Hope everyone has a great week.

Yes I said it, I am a Cowboy fan!

I have been since a little girl. We live in Montana but I am a Cowboy fan to the hilt!

My DH and 2 of my kiddos are Cowboy fans too! My middle DS is a Broncos fan, I know the rebel, but we still allow him to live with us.

So they didn't get through todays game, I am still a fan, and will be for a long time.

We have a lot of options open for next year, and I'll be here to see them through the good and bad. I will still watch the super bowl, but only for the commercials!

I was also making my Cuttlebug smoke from alotta use, and thought I would share this little card with you. I was trying to do a card without stamping, yes those words came out of my mouth, But as you can see it didn’t end up that way.

View from my Scraproom

This picture is the view I get everyday from my scraproom. The room is above the garage, and includes my bedroom. But it is a rather large space, enough that I have a king bed, 2 dressers, a nice long closet, my treadmill, and my total gym. I even have room to walk around. I am truly blessed to have this amazing view. That is Flathead Lake, and the Mission Mountains in the background. You can also get a glimpse of the high school (white rooftop).

It amazes me that I get any work done, with this view.

I also have some special things on my work space table including 2 calendars that have a daily message for me to live by.

I decided to include their two messages for you to read.
